KELLS SAMHAIN 2011
The story of Samhain and Halloween in the ancient setting of St. Colmcille’s House – dramatically brought to life by Gemma McGowan and Janet Farrer-Bone.
Meet there at 8:00 p.m.
Then afterwards - toast to the Celtic New Year - feast from the Witches Cauldron and enjoy a glass of mead. Linger a while for music, song and dance in Jack’s Railway Bar. Suitable for children over 18.
Local artist Patrick Morris will be setting up a traditional Fire Sculpture on the night.
The event is free! But donations are welcome!

ALSO THE KELLS CRAWAN (SCARECROW) FESTICAL STARTING 28TH OCTOBER 2011
Not a crow to be seen over the townsland of Kells as an army of scarecrows stand guard on the boundary roads to ward off the winged invaders.
There will be 9 x 15 FOOT HIGH SCARECROWS ON THE APPRAOCH ROADS TO KELLS! All co-ordinated by Mark Smith.
Based around Celtic Legends, scarecrows include Crawan (a Celtic god who could turn into a crow);Mug Ruith ( Druid Chieftan on the Hill of Ward also a sun god), Tlachghta( His daughter - a witch and fertility goddess),a Banshee and more.
